August seems to be the kick off for our spray season with cotton and soybeans. There is not a substitute for scouting fields to ID types and numbers of insects to determine if threshold levels are met. One trend that pretty much holds true every year is that insect populations generally increase about 7-10 days after a full moon. The full moon for the next 3 months falls on July 28th, August 31st and September 28th, 2015.
