Hello everyone! Over the next couple of weeks, I would like to provide some information that may help you. We will discuss soil fertility, dry fertilizer vs liquid fertilizer, understanding nematodes and management, land application of by-product materials, animal manure concerns, weed management systems, etc. If you have heard some of this before please forgive me but repetition is a good way of learning.

A common theme discussed at meetings was how do we survive 2015? The answer provided by most specialists was YIELD. All of you are specialists and can help your farmers increase yield by staying on offense. This blog will focus on “Understanding Soil Fertility”. Enclosed are links to the NCDA webpage that will provide detailed explanation of the NC Soil Test Report. There are 3 sections I would like for you to focus on: specifics for ag samples, detailed fertility explanations and essential plant nutrients. It makes no difference whether sample results come from A&L, Waters or the State Lab the information is relevant. Fertility recommendations may vary with specific yield goals. If you have questions please give me a call.
