I ran across a couple of emails the other day that I saved to share with you. The emails discuss information on “Farm Tag Use,” Market Outlook, Piggots 2015 Crop Comparison, tissue sampling service for wheat and NC Small Grain Growers Association video gift for NC FFA students. I hope you enjoy this months blog.

“FARM TAG USE”

North Carolina General Statue # 20-381

After a recent meeting with one of our Board of Directors, and the NCDMV we wanted to send all farmers and their employees a copy of the attached statute for review. This statute covers Specific Powers and Duties of the Department of Public Safety applicable to Motor Carriers: Agricultural Exemption. Also attached is 49 C.F.R. 173.5 – Agricultural operations.

The above statue is very specific concerning “FARM Tag Use” and the transportation of agricultural products to and from your farm, within 150 miles of the farm headquarters. A good example is: You can have a fuel tank up to 502 Gallons delivering fuel FARM TO FARM for conducting agricultural business on the farm truck but you cannot go to the tractor place to pick up parts with this vehicle and return to the farm.

Please review this statue and if you have any questions please call me at our Raleigh office: 919-809-8657 or my cell: 910-736-8258.

We encourage everyone to watch this very educational video as it discusses a lot of “Hot Topics” in today’s Ag industry. The video entitled, “Educational Discussion of Modern Wheat Production & Practices” can be accessed on our website at: http://ncwheat.com/media-gallery/ however you will need a password which is: ncwheat

Please feel free to share with others; we want everyone to see this great video! We are so proud of the hard work that went into this production.
