Fertilizers
Harvey’s delivers nutrients bagged, bulk, or liquid, custom blended to your soil test, so what goes on your ground is built for your ground.
We manufacture our own bagged fertilizer under the Dixie Fertilizer and Morgan Fertilizer brands in Farmville. Very few ag retailers make what they sell. We also keep the common analyses in stock for the farmer, the landscaper, and the homeowner who needs it off the shelf.
The form matters as much as the analysis
The right nutrients in the wrong form cost you a pass, a window, or both.
Bulk dry moves volume and covers acres fast, which is what you want broadcasting pre-plant. Liquid places nutrients precisely and mixes clean, so it suits starter in the furrow and sidedress, where placement decides whether the plant ever sees it. Bagged handles small acreage, spot work, and the lawn and garden, where a half ton of bulk makes no sense. Custom blending covers what a stock analysis cannot, built off your soil test instead of a bag someone else designed.
Soil pH is the one growers overlook most. A lot of the sandy ground in eastern North Carolina runs acidic, and once it drops below about 5.5 you start losing the phosphorus you already paid for, no matter how much you put down. Lime costs a fraction of the fertilizer it protects.
Start with a soil test
Rate, timing, placement, and pH matter as much as the analysis on the bag. Your Harvey’s agronomist can pull samples, read the results, and build the program with you. Call your location or stop in.
